Whereas, Parents are the primary decision-makers regarding the health, well-being, and upbringing of their children;
Whereas, The State of Florida has long recognized and defended the importance of parental rights in education and health care decisions;
Whereas, Vaccination mandates imposed by government agencies remove the ability of parents to make individualized medical decisions in consultation with their family’s chosen health care provider; and
Whereas, Removing vaccine mandates for school attendance would reaffirm Florida’s commitment to parental rights, medical freedom, and informed choice;
Resolved, That the Lee County Republican Executive Committee supports the Florida Legislature in efforts to remove all vaccine mandates as a requirement for student enrollment in public or private schools; and
Resolved, That we affirm the right of parents, in consultation with their health care providers, to determine what is best for their children regarding vaccinations, free from mandates or government intrusion.
